Veterans' groups and several member of Congress are pushing back against measures that would increase fees and co-pays for retired veterans. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta testified before the Senate that the current $50 billion price tag for military health care is untenable, but many want the cuts to come from elsewhere. "It's wrong to ask them to sacrifice more when Washington has not had the political courage to look at the big picture on the budget or the courage to address the big drivers of our debt," said Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., who sits on the Senate Armed Services and Budget committees.
