Qualcomm says it's developing a quad-core model of its Snapdragon S4 processor for use in Windows 8 laptops. The chip is meant to offer competition to the Intel processors that go into the MacBook Air and ultrabooks, Qualcomm's Rob Chandhok says. Brooke Crothers writes that he foresees a battle between the quad-core Snapdragon S4 and Intel's "Haswell" processor.
