Thirty-six percent of baby boomers say they are confident they can afford to retire, according to a report from the Insured Retirement Institute. The report found that 72% of single boomers and 70% of middle-income boomers expressed doubt that they can retire comfortably. Boomers can feel more in control by working closely with financial advisers, said Katie Libbe of Allianz Life. "If advisers can provide a level of certainty, it would help boomers feel more confident in retirement," Libbe says.
