A growing number of Seattle-area chefs are catering to consumers with a craving for community by offering family-style meals served around communal tables. Melissa Nyffeler's restaurant Dinette began as a series of Sunday night dinners in her apartment in 2003, and in 2005 she expanded into a brick-and-mortar eatery where she serves themed family-style Sunday dinners every few weeks.
