President Barack Obama understands the value of homegrown biofuels and will continue to work to ensure that more become available across the country, said Heather Zichal, a White House deputy assistant for energy and climate change. "Last week, we were encouraged when the biofuels community stood behind [the Environmental Protection Agency's] implementation of the renewable-fuels standard -- which we think is critical tool to promote growth in renewable-fuels production in the years ahead," Zichal said at a forum in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Renewable Fuels Association.
