Girls aged 11 to 12 were more likely to report pain during the Gardasil human papillomavirus vaccine injection as well as dizziness after receiving the vaccine compared with women aged 18 to 26, a CDC-funded study in the Journal of Women's Health found. Researchers wrote that the majority of the respondents were aware that the vaccine can prevent cervical cancer and that three doses are recommended, but many didn't know that the vaccine can also prevent genital warts and abnormal Pap smears.
