Publishers that rely on YouTube to distribute videos will be able to charge for access to live content thanks to a pay-per-view service being introduced by the streaming service. The offering, which will initially be available to members of YouTube's partner program in the U.S., Japan, France, the U.K. and Canada, includes an analytics feature, and will give users the option of using an ad-based monetization model instead of a viewer fee.
