A bill introduced Friday by U.S. representatives Jim Moran, D-Va., and Mike Doyle, D-Pa., would create a five-year grant program to provide training for all teachers working with students who have autism spectrum disorders. The measure, which is expected to move through the legislature as part of a rewrite of No Child Left Behind, would target school districts in which 10% or more of the students in special education have ASD, and would require them to partner with nonprofits or universities to provide the training.
