Construction of an 800-mile liquefied natural gas pipeline from Alaska's North Slope to the south-central part of the state could cost as much as $65 billion, and possibly more. Gov. Sean Parnell, TransCanada, Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips Alaska and BP Exploration Alaska are at work to advance the project, which could create 15,000 jobs at the peak of construction.
