The CDC reported on Tuesday that the meningitis outbreak linked to contaminated steroid injections now stands at 363 cases, including 28 deaths, in 19 states. The number of cases could continue to rise. The risk of infection drops 42 days after exposure, and injections of possibly contaminated steroids took place within that window. The longest known incubation period in this outbreak so far has been 66 days.
