Work on the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway in Texas is progressing and travelers will notice some changes this week. "We’re building up the frontage roads so we can come in and demolish the old pavement," said Heather Newsom, spokeswoman for the LBJ Express project. "There’s a lot of work that has to happen between now and December 2013. Once we’re able to force all that traffic to the exterior, we’ll be able to excavate the center. That’s when the easy part begins." In the end, three new toll lanes will be added in each direction.
