The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is moving forward with reforms to rules that govern the swaps market. "The reform structure Congress and the president have built is becoming a reality this week. The new era is beginning," CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler said. "Bright lights will begin to shine on the swaps market." Gensler outlined the CFTC's plans for implementing a series of regulations covering swap-data repositories, swap-dealer registration and other rules.
