The story of a city's growth and development may be more easily understood by examining the roads and buildings that have been constructed over time. But historical consultant Adam Levine studies the city of Philadelphia by examining the sewer system. Levine, who works for the Philadelphia Water Department, is an archivist for the department and gives presentations to the public recounting stories of how streams were converted into sewer systems that helped shape how neighborhoods were developed.
