New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and lawmakers met to discuss a plan to enable the state to get the most federal assistance possible for recovery from damage caused by Hurricane Sandy and its remnants. The state Treasury is expected to release an official estimate of losses from the storm next week, said a spokesman for Christie. "We're only going to get one shot at this. We want to make sure those figures are accurate," said Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J.
