Students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas gain knowledge in casino management not only inside their classrooms, but also at the school's Konami Gaming Lab near the Strip. According to Gary Waters, a professor teaching introductory classes at the lab, a college degree is increasingly considered a requirement for casino workers aiming for upper management as the gaming industry grows. "The landscape has changed in the last few years. There are more college-educated executives leading these casinos. Education is more highly recognized in gaming now," Waters said.
