City officials are exploring possible lease structures as a deadline to keep Chicago's Midway Airport qualified for a Federal Aviation Administration pilot program approaches. "I am exploring all options on behalf of taxpayers, and I have made it clear I will only consider moving forward if certain conditions and criteria are met," said Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in a statement. The leasing plan has won approval from Southwest Airlines, and officials anticipate qualified bidders in early 2013.
