Google achieved large-scale adoption of its Microsoft-rivaling Google Apps this year, according to this interview with Amit Singh, head of Google's enterprise unit. The cloud-based applications for documents, collaboration, text and video communications prompted Microsoft to answer with SkyDrive, but enterprises such as Hoffmann-La Roche, Kohl's and Office Depot have adopted Google's apps at $50 a user, a considerably lower price than Microsoft Office license fees.
