The National Autism Center's National Standards Project has identified promising practices for teaching students with autism. Still, schools sometimes struggle to find the resources to implement these strategies. Educators and others note it is important to remember that there isn't a one-size-fits-all program for students with autism. Students' programs must be tailored to their individual needs, says Kay Seale, director of special education at Brockton Public Schools in Mass., which has been recognized for its autism programming.
