Some students with disabilities in Florida are finding success at a group of private Christian schools that provide a 10-to-1 student-teacher ratio, therapists in the classrooms and a focus on character traits, such as integrity and compassion. "We reinvent the wheel with every kid, every day," said Chris Pello, who runs Bay Life Academy. "We have students with skills on many levels, both socially and academically." Florida provides private-school tuition to eligible students with disabilities via the McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program.
