When hoteliers met recently in Cannes, France, at the International Luxury Travel Market conference, the hot topic was technology. Many hotels showed off technology advancements, and London hotelier Rocco Forte said technology helps to improve the guest experience yet can also be obtrusive. "You've got to have the Wi-Fi, the iPhone connections and the big televisions," Forte said at the event. "But sometimes you'll check in to a hotel and the staff's busy looking at their computer screen instead of talking to you. So there are some bad aspects."
