Students in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District's Gifted and Talented Education Program in California spent a half-day of their winter break making origami, painting and learning about positive peer pressure during an annual district event hosted by volunteers. "This is just one of the ways that we reach out to (GATE students) to give them more enrichment that they can't normally experience in the classroom because of time and class size," teacher Gina Danley said.
