The Environmental Protection Agency and the District of Columbia government have formed the "Clean Rivers, Green District" partnership to "advance green infrastructure for urban stormwater management" in Washington, D.C. The goal is to "demonstrate the extent to which green infrastructure can alleviate [combined sewer overflows] and effect compliance with the consent decree. If successful -- and sustainable -- the savings could be significant," writes Bob Drake.
