Higher payroll taxes for Americans and the fiscal challenges facing governments around the world could have a negative effect on the electronics industry this year, according to experts. "We're a little worried that the U.S. consumers are not only sitting with a tax increase but a tax increase" that they hadn't expected, said Bruce Kasman of JPMorgan. Bill McClean of IC Insights had a sunnier outlook for the semiconductor industry and predicted that revenue and unit shipments will grow by single digits this year, followed by more robust growth in 2014 and 2015.
