Bulgur, chickpeas and kale are healthy foods that many people may not know about, says Lindsey Lee, a clinical dietitian with the University of Alabama-Birmingham Weight Management Services. Spaghetti squash and sunflower seeds are other healthy choices that are available in most grocery stores and can add variety to a healthy diet without adding pounds, Lee says.
