As part of the 40th anniversary celebration at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, the school's oncology unit marked 10 years of touching animal and human lives. Some of the technicians who staff the unit have pets that have been treated for cancer and say that is part of what motivates them. LSU's oncology service provides care for pets across four states and offers services including chemotherapy and radiation treatments, according to assistant professor of medical oncology and veterinarian Bonnie Boudreaux.
