Hotel firms are studying growth opportunities that could arise in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from the construction of a $3 billion theme-park complex in Jebel Ali. Some experts say the theme park would aid the strong growth of inbound tourism and hotel performance in the region. "Dubai currently lacks a prominent theme park to extend visitor stays by adding to the destination program," said Harmen de Jong, a consultant at PKF Consulting. "The announced leisure and entertainment complex in Jebel Ali will therefore certainly fill a market gap that has been identified for a while already."
