The last-minute approval of an extension of the wind-energy Production Tax Credit is good news for Element Power and Invenergy, which are proposing to build wind farms in north central Ohio, but it may still take years before their projects can get off the ground. Element Power's proposed Black Fork wind project was approved by the state last year but it is still bogged down in a lawsuit in the Ohio Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Invenergy's proposed wind project in Morrow County is still awaiting a decision from the Ohio Power Siting Board before it can move forward.
