Intel is expected to make networking chips for Cisco Systems on a contract basis, Bloomberg reports, citing two people with knowledge of the matter. The chipmaker is apparently getting deeper into the silicon foundry business, which is dominated by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. An Intel spokesman declined to comment on the report. A Cisco spokeswoman said, "The company is one of several strategic suppliers of silicon to Cisco. However, Cisco does not comment on the specifics of its relationship with suppliers."
