Amazon has extended the GameCircle system to Apple iOS, as well as cloud-based Whispersync for Games, in a push to become the go-to service for mobile gaming. The change allows users to pick up a game where they left off, even when switching to a different device.
Amazon has made GameCircle, a platform for mobile video games, available on all Google Android devices. The move gives players access to advanced features, including the ability to start a game on one device and finish it on another.
The Defense Department has asked Apple, Google and other suppliers to bid on a contract for software to manage, analyze and secure the 162,500 mobile devices the military uses, in a switch from the Pentagon's former BlackBerry-only contract.
