Colorado State University veterinary ophthalmologist Cynthia Powell surgically corrected glaucoma in a therapy horse's only remaining eye in 2008 and has been managing the case ever since. Snuggles, a miniature horse who is also a therapy animal, lost one eye as a baby and returns to CSU to have her remaining eye monitored for any problems related to her glaucoma. Because the eye has been healthy since 2008, Dr. Powell believes the condition will continue to respond to medication.
