Potential economic benefits from the Federal Reserve's asset buying take precedence over the risk of asset bubbles or inflation, Chairman Ben Bernanke told the Senate banking committee. Although the Fed takes "very seriously" possible consequences of its bond buying, the program will continue, Bernanke said. Separately, Bernanke said automatic budget cuts that begin Friday will add a "significant" burden to the economy.
