Google is poised to launch Offer Extensions, a new service allowing search advertisers to place Groupon-style discount coupons alongside their regular search ads. That could help brands get attention without having to spring for potentially costly Groupon deals. "Coupons mean more eyeballs and attention for advertisers. Even if users see your deal, save it for later, and forget about it, they've still interacted with your business," says search marketer Larry Kim.
