In honor of the celebrated American highway, Route 66, students from Joliet Township High School in Illinois are creating huge banners that will hang from the nearby Route 66 Raceway. The project is part of the Desktop Publishing and Photo Communications class taken by the students, who are selling banner sponsorships and donated profits to charity. "Our district goal is to provide real-world experiences for our students, and our career academies enable us to work with business partners to bring these experiences to life," said Carol Collins, high-school district project director.
