General Dynamics won a three-year contract valued at $27.3 million to update airport security at Los Angeles International Airport. The upgrades will include installing more than 2,500 cameras for a closed-circuit television system that includes video management and storage.
JetBlue Airways plans to code share with major carriers for the first time in its history, although it has entered interline alliances with mostly foreign airlines. "We are charting unknown territory," said CEO Dave Barger. "It's likely that two-way code share will be part of our landscape as we move into 2013 and 2014."
United Continental is focusing on the growing market of Latin America. "It's a market that's been underserved," said Tom Parsons, CEO of BestFares.com. "Now, it's just a huge revenue market." The carrier reported that revenue for flights to and from Latin America increased 22% from last year.
