Chris Gage, a history teacher at South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Ky., uses films ranging from "Gangs of New York" and "Hotel Rwanda" to "Braveheart" and "The Count of Monte Cristo" to help reinforce certain issues such as imperialism, class struggle and racism, while examining where filmmakers take dramatic license and stray from the facts. "The whole idea really is the film stays with students longer than any verbal information I may give them," said Gage, who teaches "Reel History" as an elective for junior and senior students.
