The shale oil and natural gas industry in Ohio has helped generate jobs for the state, officials say. In one year, southeast Ohio's oil drilling and pipelining jobs grew by 24%. "Ohio is fortunate to have a natural gift with great potential for reinvigorating our economy: huge deposits of shale rock, beneath which sit potentially vast reserves of oil and natural gas," said Michael Colbert, director of the state's Department of Job and Family Services.
