LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics are stepping up their operations in China in the face of increased local competition from Huawei Technologies, Lenovo Group and ZTE, this analysis notes. Samsung's share of the Chinese telecommunications market fell from 20% in 2011 to 14.2% in 2012, according to Gartner, which notes that LG has a less than 1% market share in the country. In addition, Samsung supplies application processors, NAND flash memory devices and other components to Chinese manufacturers.
