Exposure to smog is associated with a greater likelihood of death among heart attack survivors, according to a study published online in the European Heart Journal. Researchers looked at the records of more than 150,000 heart attack survivors in the U.K. and found a 20% increase in mortality risk for each additional 10 micrograms per cubic meter of fine particulates.
