The oil industry's attacks against U.S. ethanol conveniently overlook the lessons from Brazil's ethanol program, which proved beneficial there in terms of job creation, energy security and improved air quality, writes Bradley Krohn, president of United States EnviroFuels and manager of Highlands EnviroFuels. "Today, approximately 50 percent of Brazil's motor fuel supply is ethanol because of ethanol's mandated use, which has allowed Brazil to eliminate the importation of foreign oil altogether," Krohn states.
