A school in Worthing, England, has taken lessons about the environment beyond the classroom walls to create a student group called Sustain. The members conduct workshops for the community to talk about sustainable living, as well as help educate younger students about renewable energy and similar topics. "The best way to teach about environmental issues is to get the students involved; engage them, challenge them and give them responsibilities beyond normal boundaries. They need to feel that they are can make a difference," said geography teacher Louise George, who created the group four years ago.
