Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway will become one of the biggest stockholders of Goldman Sachs in a deal that doesn't require Berkshire to put up additional money. Berkshire is giving up some rights acquired through warrants received from Goldman at the height of the financial crisis. In return, based on Goldman's share price, Berkshire will get more than 9 million shares without putting any cash into the deal.
