The development of enterprise applications is being hampered by the hacking required to connect to a lot of legacy systems, writes Alex Williams, who presents "Enterprise Invades the Apps Playground" at the South by Southwest Conferences and Festival today. Even though Hadoop has affected the enterprise, it "is still a mystery for most developers," and getting Big Data out can also be challenging. But "[e]nterprise apps marketplaces have a better chance of success when the service has amassed considerable data and has an infrastructure to maintain it," writes Williams.
