The ethanol industry is challenging the findings of a study claiming the Renewable Fuel Standard will do economic harm by 2015. The study was conducted by NERA Economic Consulting and published by the American Petroleum Institute. During a conference call Wednesday, ethanol industry leaders, including Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen, said oil companies have known for years about investments needed to comply with the RFS but instead choose to try to repeal it, which would block consumer access to ethanol and its ability to lower fuel prices.
