An announcement is expected today from the Federal Aviation Administration about which air traffic control towers will be among the 173 that will close April 7. Altogether, 238 -- the "vast majority" of towers according to the FAA -- will be closed. "It makes no sense," said AOPA's Craig Fuller. "Tragically something is going to happen, and then were going to review this decision and, I'm sure, roll back some of the cuts they are considering now," he said.
