The Los Angeles teachers union could develop alternative plans to the policies championed by superintendent John Deasy and the board of education. In an April vote, the teachers union is expected to consider whether to take a more aggressive stance against district policies, including the emphasis on standardized testing and value-added evaluations, Howard Blume writes in this blog post. The union's proposal calls for a citywide campaign, as well as further negotiations with district officials.
