MetroPCS Communications continued to press shareholders to approve its merger with T-Mobile USA in a vote April 12. The company issued a statement on Monday that the prepaid carrier has not received any competing bids. "The proposed combination is the best alternative for MetroPCS to maximize stockholder value," the company asserted about the proposal that would give T-Mobile's parent firm Deutsche Telekom a 74% share in the new entity. The deal has received criticism from two of MetroPCS' largest investors.
