The leaky roof of the historic Vermilion County Courthouse in Illinois may soon be repaired, as a county board is expected to award the project to the lowest bidder. The roof of the century-old building has a concrete bottom, with layers of ballast, wood planking and insulation topped by a membrane. The repairs call for replacing the top layers of the roof with water-resistant sheeting and placing a material membrane on top.
