Subway's new breakfast menu is part of a larger strategy to gain more market share by attracting consumers for more than just lunch-time sandwiches, said Chief Development Officer Don Fertman. The topic was a hot one at the chain's recent multi-unit owners meeting, along with the subject of adapting to the Affordable Care Act. "They have received a lot of education on building their businesses and are looking at how they can make up the costs" Fertman said.
