Farmers supplying corn to the Quad County Corn Processors ethanol plant in Galva, Iowa, are seeing increased revenue from Syngenta's Enogen corn variety, which was specially designed to produce ethanol more efficiently. The Enogen corn is expected to improve the bottom line of ethanol producers by boosting production while reducing energy and water use, Syngenta said. In addition to Quad County Corn Processors, the Plymouth Energy ethanol plant in Merrill, Iowa, and the Siouxland Ethanol plant near Jackson, Neb., have signed on to use or try Enogen corn.
