Tim Walz, D-Minn., would help Iraq and Afghanistan veterans wrongfully discharged for personality or adjustment disorders to qualify for Department of Veterans Affairs benefits. Tens of thousands of former military personnel were discharged even though they may have been suffering from PTSD or other service-connected conditions, a study found, and the legislation would make it easier for veterans to appeal misdiagnoses.
